
Palazzolo is "a Staff and HIV Project Attorney in the Midwest Regional Office of Lambda Legal, the oldest and largest organization dedicated to advancing the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and individuals living with HIV. A nationally recognized expert on public health laws, Professor Hodge has authored numerous books, book chapters, and articles on various aspects of law, medicine, and bioethics, has served on nationally recognized committees, including those of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and regularly publishes a column on public health law in the Journal of Law, Medicine, and Ethics. Hodge is Professor of Public Health Law and Ethics at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. was welcomed by the Departments of Medical Humanities and Internal Medicine as the 2017 Theodore R. Public Health Law 2017: National Trends was the topic of discussion at this year's grand rounds. Her publications may be found in J.A.M.A., the New England Journal of Medicine, the Hastings Law Journal, and the American Journal of Medicine. She also served as a Law Fellow at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining the faculty at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, she practiced law as a health care associate at the firm of Ropes & Gray, LLP. in Health Policy, with concentration in Evaluative Science and Statistics, from Harvard University. She received her law degree from Harvard Law School and a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Haffajee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Her presentation was entitled: Using the Law to Tackle the Opioid Crisis. He is also editor of the Johns Hopkins University Press special book series, Health Equity in America, and author of a forthcoming book, The History of Health Equity in America: A Closer Look at the Political Determinants of Health.
